UPDATE:

The Prince Albert Police Service is continuing its investigate in relation to a shooting that occurred outside a school Wednesday morning.

At approximately 10:20 a.m. on September 17, 2025, police were called to a school in the 1800 block of 14th Avenue West for a report of a firearm being discharged outside the school. Further updates stated three suspects fled the scene.

Officers quickly attended the scene while other patrol members began to circulate the surrounding area in search of the suspects. Arriving officers learned a 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old female had been struck with a projectile and were observed to have what appeared to be minor injuries.

A member of the Canine Unit attended the scene and began a K9 track which resulted in police successfully locating a firearm discarded in a bush in the 1300 block of 18th Street West. Shortly after, officers located and arrested one male youth.

Police are continuing to investigate in relation to this shooting and anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222.

A school went into lockdown today, as Prince Albert Police Service is investigating an incident which occurred outside a school in the 1800 block of 14th Avenue West.

Police received a report at approximately 10:20 a.m. of a firearm being discharged outside the school.

The school had been put in lockdown and the police believe this to be an isolated incident.

The lockdown has since ended at the school and members of the Prince Albert Police Service are remaining on scene.

The investigation continues.
