A wanted man in relation to two shootings this month has been arrested following an investigation.
On August 19, 2025 at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Patrol were able to arrest the 19-year-old man.
Through a further search incident to arrest, officers located three grams of methamphetamine, 32 grams of cocaine, bear spray, $360 Canadian currency, and other items consistent with drug trafficking.
The first shooting occurred on August 3, 2025 when at approximately 12:30 p.m., police were called to the 1600 block of 17th Street West for a report of a shooting.
Officers quickly arrived on scene and located and injured 26-year-old male.
He was treated by Parkland Ambulance paramedics and transported to hospital with what were later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The second shooting occurred on August 12, 2025.
While conducting routine patrols in the South Hill area at around 7:10 a.m., an officer noticed an injured 29-year-old male sitting in the middle of the road on 2nd Avenue West.
Shortly after, the officer learned the male had an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
As a result of these investigations, the 19-year-old man has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime under $5000, aggravated assault (x2), discharging a firearm in a reckless manner (x2), attempted murder, forcible confinement, and multiple other firearms related charges.
He was scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial court Wednesday August 20, 2025.
