As of July 14, 2025, at 3PM the Northern Village of Ile-a-la Crosse has declared a state of emergency.
This announcement was delivered after the Emergency Operation Centre meeting this morning.
This declaration of state of emergency will allow the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to work with the community to coordinate a precautionary voluntary evacuation of the community of Ile-a-la Crosse for Priority 1 & Priority 2 residents.
The voluntary evacuation will require coordinated efforts with the SPSA and their online registration app. They only need one individual in each household to register those who would like to be declared as “evacuated.”
The community has an opportunity, with the current fire situation, to safely get residents away from any threats.
The voluntary evacuation is a strategic move that the community is taking to keep their members safe from the fire behaviors, potential road closures and/or potential power outages.
The SPSA App Link to register is: https://app.saskecs.ca
The evacuees are asked to call 306-833-2122 once registered, so they can track residents for safety.
