Prince Albert RCMP received a report of an armed robbery on Sturgeon Lake First Nation, in the afternoon of June 15, 2025.

Investigation determined that a motorist was driving a SUV on Sturgeon Lake Road and they came across a male laying on the roadway.

The motorist stopped, exited the SUV, and went to check on the wellbeing of the male.

After the motorist exited the vehicle, the male laying on the road got up and a second male exited a nearby bushed area with a firearm and pointed it at the motorist.

The two males stole the motorist’s SUV and fled. No injuries were reported by the motorist.

Later that day, at approximately 5:10 p.m., officers located the stolen SUV at a residence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services, Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS), and a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System were engaged to assist in the investigation.

An adult male and an adult female were arrested at the residence on unrelated outstanding warrants from Prince Albert RCMP and Prince Albert Police Service.

The Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate and work to locate the two males involved in the armed robbery.
