The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) is investigating the circumstances of an RCMP officer-involved shooting.

Which resulted in some injuries to an adult male.

Meadow Lake RCMP responded to a report of an adult male acting aggressively at a residence on Flying Dust First Nation on June 29, 2025, around 5:30 p.m..

Two RCMP officers responded to the call.

The two officers encountered an adult male with a weapon.

As a result, an RCMP officer discharged their firearm, injuring the man.

Officers immediately provided medical assistance and the man was transported to the hospital with injuries described as serious.

There has been no update for the current condition of the injured man.

His family has been notified.

During this incident it was noted that no RCMP officers were physically injured.

As required by The Police Act, 1990, Saskatchewan RCMP notified the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT).

SIRT will investigate the circumstances of the officer-involved shooting with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

Saskatchewan RCMP General Investigation Section is investigating the circumstances of the initial call for service.
