The RCMP sent a release stating that, On May 15, 2025, Beauval RCMP determined a wanted individual was inside a residence on the Canoe Lake First Nation.

Officers attended the residence and observed what appeared to be illicit drugs in plain sight inside a vehicle parked outside. As a result of continued investigation, officers located and seized eight small bags of cocaine, a sum of cash, ammunition and a loaded firearm from the vehicle.

The wanted male was arrested at the residence.

As a result of continued investigation, 31-year-old Kelsey Iron from the Canoe Lake First Nation is charged with:

– one count, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;

– one count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, Section 354(1)(a);

– one count, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, Section 94(1), Criminal Code;

– one count, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code; and

– six counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.

He was also arrested on a warrant for robbery and fail to comply with release order conditions related to an August 2024 incident on the Canoe Lake First Nation.

Kelsey Iron appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on May 20, 2025 (Information 90508980).
