A northern Saskatchewan economic development firm has signed an agreement with Sasktel on a new infrastructure collaboration.
Des Nedhe Group has signed a new Memorandun of Understanding with the Crown Corporation on military data storage services.
Under this new agreement, Des Nedhe will lead market engagement for Sasktel’s secure data storage services with the Department of National Defence.
This will include joint efforts to secure funding for the data storage service and expand research and development initiatives.
Des Nedhe says the joint efforts will be anchored in principles of Indigenous data sovereignty and economic development.
“This is a powerful example of economic reconciliation in action,” said Sean Willy, President & CEO of Des Nedhe Group. “With SaskTel’s technological infrastructure and our trusted relationships, we’re creating a pathway for inclusive, secure, and futureready solutions.”
The collaboration comes following the launch of Des Nedhe Group Defence, a platform designed to serve Canada’s defence industry using all of Des Nedhe’s network of businesses.
The two groups say they have already begun pursuing commercial opportunities under this new agreement.
