Canoe Lake Cree First Nation posted an update about the fire situation to Facebook on May 27, 2025.
They expect the evacuation to remain in place for at least the next couple of days.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) has informed the First Nation that due to the severe weather conditions, the evacuation will remain in place for the time being.
Community members who have already evacuated the community of Canoe Lake Cree First Nation are asked to remain where you have been relocated to for the time being.
No one will be allowed back into the community due to safety reasons.
Residents of Cole Bay and Jans Bay will be allowed to enter their communities for essential needs or supplies from the local stores. At 11P.M., no one will be allowed in or out of the security gate.
Support for the evacuees will be provided.
