Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has laid a murder charge for a death in La Ronge five years ago.
26-year-old Jeremy Bird was shot and killed in an incident in the northern community that year.
During the incident, another man was seriously injured while others, who were shot at, fled from the scene without injury.
RCMP announced this afternoon that a then 14-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and several counts of attempted murder.
Due to his age at the time of the alleged offense, the person cannot be identified.
Mounties say the individual was remanded into custody on Friday and appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on Monday.
