A public inquest is set to begin next month into the death of a man in Prince Albert.

Police on foot patrol discovered Wesley Lathlin lying on a street in medical distress on October 5, 2021.

He was transported to Victoria Hospital for medical treatment, later being transferred to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, where he died on Oct. 10.

The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is responsible for the investigation of all sudden, unexpected deaths. The purpose of an inquest is to establish who died, when and where that person died and the medical cause and manner of death. The coroner’s jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths.

The Inquest will be held in Saskatoon June 10-14.
