A public inquest will take place next month into the 2015 death of an Indigenous boy.

Haven Dubois was discovered unresponsive in a creek in the east end of Regina on May 20, 2015. A bystander performed resuscitation efforts on the 14-year-old. He would later die in hospital.

Haven’s mother Richelle long suspected her son was murdered, citing he was experiencing bullying and gang intimidation at school.

Regina Police ruled out foul play.

Last year, Saskatchewan Coroner Clive Weighill reviewed Haven’s case and agreed to conduct a public inquest.

The five-day inquest will be held May 27-31 in Regina.
