Candle Lake resident, Joanne Angelstad, is the EXTRA winner of $100,000 from a $4 ticket for February 21 LOTTO 649 draw.

The experience of winning literally brought Angelstad.

“I went to scan my tickets quickly while I was leaving the hospital with my sister,” she said. “I thought I’d won $1,000 and then saw the full amount and screamed!”

During her emotional response to her win, others in the store joined in her celebration.

Angelstad said, “The cashier asked if she could give me a hug, then two other ladies in the store congratulated and hugged me, too.”

Her ticket had six matching numbers for the EXTRA draw which secured her win.

She told her husband, but he did not believe her and assumed it was an early April Fool’s Day joke.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Save-On-Foods, located at 151 Gibson Bend in Saskatoon.

Angelstad plans on using her winnings to pay bills and is relieved to be able to do so.

“I still can’t believe it,” she said. “I always thought it would be nice to win enough to be debt free.”
