A 26-year-old man from Sandy Bay is facing multiple charges in Prince Albert.

On March 17 Prince Albert Police received a report of an attempted break and enter on Conte Drive in the RM of Buckland.

Police said that at around 11:40 p.m. officers located a vehicle matching that description in a parking lot near the intersection of 6 Avenue East and 28 Street East in Prince Albert Prince Albert.

When officers turned on their emergency lights and approached the vehicle, the vehicle began ramming the police vehicles several times. None of the officers have been reported injured but one of the police vehicles was damaged as a result.

The driver fled the scene on foot and one female occupant of the vehicle was arrested on a warrant from Prince Albert Police.

With the help of Prince Albert Police Service patrol officers and Police Dog Services, the driver was located and arrested early yesterday morning. A subsequent investigation determined that the vehicle the driver was in was reported as stolen to Prince Albert police.

As a result of the investigation, Mario Caribou from Sandy Bay is facing several charges including – two counts, assault on police officer with weapon, two counts, resist peace officer, one count, flight from peace officer, and one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Caribou was set to appear in provincial court today.
