A 35-year-old woman is facing charges after an incident this past Tuesday on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.
Pierceland RCMP said late Tuesday night they were called to a home in the community about a serious assault. When police arrived they found an adult man who had suffered serious injuries. The man was taken to hospital.
At the scene RCMP arrested Doreen Oseemeemow, who is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Oseemeemow made her first court appearance Thursday in Meadow Lake Provincial Court.
RCMP said their investigation into the incident is continuing
