UPDATE

Saskatchewan RCMP have determined the remains found near Black Lake earlier this week are part of a gravesite. Police said their investigation has found the gravesite is about 100 years old.

The discovery of the remains is no longer considered to be a police matter.

RCMP are conducting an investigation after the discovery of human remains around Black Lake Denesuline First Nation.

RCMP said they were told about the discovery of the remains this past Monday.

Police said the remains were found over six kilometers southeast of the community. Saskatchewan RCMP forensic Identification and forensic anthropologists are investigating. RCMP said they are still working to try to determine the age of the remains.
