RCMP in Deschambault Lake have charged a 33-year-old man after an incident this past weekend.
Police said they were called this past Saturday afternoon about a person being treated at a local health clinic for injuries. RCMP said they investigated and found that a woman had been assaulted by a man and was seriously injured.
Jonah Ballantyne of Deschambault Lake is facing three charges in relation to the incident, including attempted murder and aggravated assault. Ballantyne is also facing an additional charge of failing to comply with an undertaking.
The accused made his first court appearance Monday in La Ronge Provincial Court.
