Saskatchewan RCMP’s Historical Case Unit has determined the identity of human remains recently found on Big Island Lake Cree territory.

Through an autopsy, investigators say the remains found this spring were determined to be around 10 years old.

Authorities then looked into missing person files around the time and a potential identity was established.

A family DNA comparison would then be completed, which determined the remains were those of 38-year-old Randy Wallace George.

George was reported missing on July 11, 2013.

His death is not considered suspicious.
