Christian Desjardin will appear in La Loche court today, charged with aggravated assault.
It is alleged that Desjardin stabbed a male youth Friday afternoon on the Birch Narrows Dene Nation.
The youth was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Desjardin was arrested later Friday.
