The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team is investigating after a man was seriously injured in an arrest with Prince Albert.

Authorities said early Saturday morning, officers stopped a vehicle in the 1100 Block of 13th Street West, in relation to a stolen vehicle investigation.

As police attempted to arrest the man, he was tasered. A short time later, he went into medical distress and was transported by ambulance to hospital, where he is in serious condition.

Prince Albert Police said it is fully cooperating with the SIRT investigation. Police are not providing further comment.
