Two men are facing charges after an armed home invasion in La Ronge Wednesday morning.

In a media release sent out Thursday afternoon RCMP said three masked men forced their way into a home on the 100 block of Nikik Road looking for a man. Police said once the intruders found the man they were looking for there was an exchange of gunfire which led to one of the masked suspects being hit. According to police everyone involved is known to each other.

The intruders fled the home in a white Nissan Rogue which police found at a hospital. Inside the vehicle police reported they found a loaded shotgun.

After investigating RCMP said they were eventually able to identify all three suspects.

Currently 23-year-old Tyrell Duamis and 38-year-old Cody Mckenzie, who are both from the La Ronge area are facing a range of different charges including breaking and entering, using a firearm while committing an indictable offense along with wearing a disguise with intent.

Mckenzie is set to make his first court appearance April 14 in La Ronge Provincial Court.

Police said their investigation is continuing and they are trying to find the man who exchanged gunfire with the masked suspects inside the home.
