The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) has charged a man from Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation with first degree murder in an investigation dating back to March of 2021.
In a media release sent out Thursday afternoon PAPS said 26-year-old Henry Ratt had been arrested and charged in relation to the death of Jeremy Starblanket. Police said Ratt made his first court appearance Thursday morning in Prince Albert.
In March of 2021 PAPS said they were called to a home in the city on the 500 block of Fifth Street East about an explosion and a fire. After the fire was put out Starblanket was found dead inside the home.
In July of 2021 police arrested and charged Loretta Sakebow with second degree murder in relation to Starblanket’s death.
PAPS said their investigation is continuing.
