A 48-year-old woman from Saskatoon who allegedly faked the death of herself and her son while fleeing to the United States is now facing more charges.

The woman and her son were the subject of a missing person’s report this past July before being found in Oregon two weeks later.

The woman was then brought back to Canada where she faced charges of mischief and child abduction in contravention of a custody order.

Saskatoon police announced Tuesday afternoon the woman is facing several new charges.

These new charges include; Procurement to be Made and Possess Identity Documents, Forging a Passport, Providing a False Statement in Relation to a Passport, Possession of a Forged Passport, Possession of Forged Documents, Identity Theft and Identity Fraud.

The woman can not be named as her son is the subject of a publication ban.

She is due back in court on November 21.
