RCMP are investigating a homicide on The Key First Nation.

Mounties say they received reports of shots fired at a home on the First Nation early Sunday morning at around 5 am.

When officers arrived, they located an injured 51-year-old man from They Key First Nation who was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been notified and authorities say they will not be releasing his name at this time.

The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is now overtaking the investigation.

According to the RCMP, the man’s death was determined to be a homicide after consultation with Saskatchewan’s Coroners Service.

Investigators are looking to speak with anyone who may have information on the man’s death or anybody who noticed anything suspicious in the rural area southeast of the “Four Corners” intersection on The Key First Nation early Sunday morning.
