A man from La Ronge is facing charges after an incident near Prince Albert this week.

According to Prince Albert RCMP a vehicle, which was disabled was parked on the side of Highway 263 on Tuesday when a man approached it and pointed a gun at the two people inside. The man forced the two to remain inside the vehicle, but they were able to eventually get away without being hurt and called police.

RCMP responded to area and found the man near the vehicle, he ran when officers tried to arrest him and disappeared into a nearby wooded area.

On Wednesday morning police were called after the man was seen in Little Red Reserve on the Montreal Lake side. RCMP responded and took the man into custody without incident.

32-year-old Cory Halkett is facing six charges including robbery and unlawful confinement along with weapons charges. He made his first court appearance Thursday in Prince Albert.
