A former Saskatchewan RCMP Officer accused of murdering a 26-year-old man will stand trial in December.

Bernie Herman’s trial will commence on December 4, in Prince Albert at the Court of Queen’s Bench.

The 32-year-old veteran of law enforcement was charged with first-degree murder May 11, 2021 of Braden Herman.

The men, who are not related, are known to each other and are from the Clearwater River Dene Nation.

Braden’s body was discovered near Little Red Park in Prince Albert, with city police stating that Bernie told a co-worker that he killed someone.
