Police continue to ask people in the are to stay inside their homes and lock their doors.
Saskatchewan RCMP has issued a public safety alert in Cumberland House Cree Nation for a man believed to be in the community with a long-barrel gun.
RCMP say the man is dangerous and was last seen wearing a black ball cap and black jacket in the area of Pemmican Portage Avenue.
Mounties are asking residents in the community to stay inside and lock all doors and windows.
Motorists in the area are also encouraged to be aware of the situation and to not stop for any hitchhikers.
The public is asked to call 911 in any emergency and to not disclose police locations.
The RCMP is warning of an increased police presence in the community while the situation is ongoing.
They say updates on the situation will be provided when available.
