Sturgeon Lake First Nation will soon have new leadership.
When members head to the polls this week they will have the option to vote for three candidates for chief in Micah Daniels, James Felix and Christine Longjohn. Incumbent chief Greg Ermine is not seeking re-election.
Along with the the office of chief there are six councilor positions up for election. 15 candidates have put their names forward for those positions.
Election day is Friday May 13 with polls open from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Advance polls are going Wednesday May 11 in Saskatoon at the Ramada Hotel in the Alberta Room and Thursday May 12 in Prince Albert at the P.A. Inn in Salon A. Both advance polls are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The new chief and band council are set to be sworn in Saturday May 14.
