Two people are facing several charges after a series of alleged assaults on Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

RCMP say a man and woman committed a series of assaults in the community this past Wednesday with one of the assaults reportedly involving bear mace.

When officers went to arrest the two individuals RCMP say they refused to exit the home they were in leading to an increased RCMP presence in the community.

Mounties say they were able to eventually arrest the two individuals without incident.

AS a result, Xavier Smith of Montreal Lake Cree Nation and Natash Fontaine of Prince Albert face several charges including assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose/

Both will have court appearances this week.
