A man charged with sexual assault after allegedly claiming to be a traditional healer had his matter before the courts Wednesday morning.

Cecil Wolfe faces eleven charges of sexual assault stemming from a period of twenty years in different locations around Saskatoon, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, and other nearby communities.

The RCMP brought forward 7 of these charges while the Saskatoon Police Service brought forward the remaining four.

According to police, the 60-year-old claimed to be a traditional healer or medicine man when the alleged assaults took place.

He was originally charged with one count of sexual assault this past September before more women began coming forward with allegations.

Wolfe made a brief court appearance via phone in a Saskatoon courtroom Wednesday morning where the two most recent charges were brought to the court’s attention. His matter was then adjourned to March 30th.

Police also continue to encourage anyone else who may have been impacted to come forward.
