Two people have been arrested and charged for the murder of a man from Mistawasis First Nation in 2020.

RCMP say after an extended investigation 19-year-old Roy Lasas along with a male youth were both arrested and charged in the murder of Troy Watson.

Watson was found injured outside a home on Mistawasis First Nation on November 17, 2020 and would later die of his injuries.

RCMP say the arrests were thanks to collaboration from several RCMP units and detachments.

Mounties sent out a media release Monday morning informing the public of the arrests.

Both Laras and the unnamed youth face charges of second-degree murder.

They made their first court appearance in Prince Albert Monday morning.

Mistawasis First Nation is about 80 kilometres Southwest of Prince Albert.
