The Provincial Auditor has found that public health officials have implemented recommendations on delivering childhood immunizations in La Ronge and the surrounding area.

In a follow-up audit from 2017, Auditor Tara Clement concluded that Sask. Health Authority officials are now manually counting immunizations on-hand compared to inventory records.

Area officials are also tracking immunization rates for pertussis, measles and meningococcal and comparing that to provincial levels.

As of June 30, regional rates for immunization against pertussis and measles among two-year olds were well below the provincial average and target rates.

But as children reached school age, the immunization rates exceeded the provincial average and target.
