UPDATE:

Prince Albert RCMP say two people were found dead in a vehicle north of the city in what they say was a suspicious manner.

Early Friday afternoon, RCMP had warned the public of an increased police presence on Highway 355 in between Albertville and Meath Park.

The reason we are now learning is Mounties say two individuals were found dead in a car in the area on Thursday evening around 9:00 pm.

These deaths are considered suspicious in nature and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.

RCMP say further information about the individuals including age and sex will be released in the coming days.

Anyone who may have information on this situation is asked to immediately call the police or Crime Stoppers.

The RCMP say there will be an increased police presence in the RM of Garden River near Highway 355 in between the communities of Albertville and Meath Park.

The public is asked to avoid the area.

Few details have been released at this time as to what is currently going on, but the RCMP says they will inform the public when more information is available and if there is an increased risk to public safety.
