Lac La Ronge Indian Band members in Hall Lake will now have better cell service.

This is thanks to a new cell tower near Sally Ross School.

According to a statement by the LLRIB, the Band had been working for years to get funding for a cell tower in Hall Lake but couldn’t so they paid for it themselves.

The $377,000 tower was officially commissioned Tuesday.

In the statement, LLRIB chief Tammy Cook-Searson said, “the new tower will help in security for the residents, economic growth and community development.”

She also explained how this will also help travelers on Highway 165.
