A mineral exploration company out of Vancouver has acquired four uranium properties in northern Saskatchewan.

Pegasus Resources officially announced the acquisition of the four areas around the Athabasca Basin region in a media release Wednesday morning.

The areas include Wollaston Northeast, Bentley Lake, Mozzie Lake, and Pine Chamber.

Historical estimates say around 535,000 pounds of uranium can be found within the four regions.

The four regions make up 14 individual claims with 7 in Wollaston Northeast, 3 in Bentley Lake, 3 in Mozzie Lake, and 1 in Pine Chamber.

“We are incredibly excited to have acquired the 20A Zone uranium deposit in northern Saskatchewan and a large land position in the prolific Wollaston Domain, where recent uranium discoveries have brought renewed interest to uranium exploration,” said Charles Desjardins, CEO of Pegasus Resources, in a media release. “The 20A Zone has remained virtually unexplored for 50 years and now represents an opportunity to re-examine an old showing in the context of other modern uranium discoveries in and around the Athabasca Basin.”

Pegasus resources say they are an exploration company with a focus on zinc and base metal, but they are looking to expand their portfolio.
