Two people from Prince Albert are facing several charges after police say they were drunk in a car with children aboard.

RCMP say they received complaints about a vehicle in the Northern Village of Pinehouse this past Thursday evening. A member of the public complained to the northern detachment about a person wanted on several warrants.

Upon investigation, RCMP say a man and woman were both found in the vehicle with three young children.

Mounties say they believe both adults were intoxicated, however, both individuals refused to provide a breath sample. RCMP say they were arrested.

Mounties also say a firearm was found in the vehicle.

Both the 45-year-old man and the 42-year-old woman are facing several charges each, including child endangerment.

RCMP say they were thankful for the tip from the public.

“Pinehouse RCMP would like to thank the member of the community for contacting police regarding this matter,” said Sgt. Daniel Lozinski, Pinehouse RCMP Detachment Commander. “Working together like this contributes to a safer community for all of us.”
