An RCMP detachment in northeast Saskatchewan is dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak.

The Sask. Health Authority declared the outbreak Monday. Mounties said operations are not being impacted.

“Protocols are in place to reduce the risk of transmission at the detachment and while officers are responding to calls for service.  Measures include social distancing and personal protective equipment. The La Ronge Detachment and police vehicles are routinely disinfected as per current health authority instructions,” said RCMP Media Relations. “La Ronge RCMP has adequate civilian employees and police officers available. Resources from other Saskatchewan RCMP detachments and/or units will be immediately deployed to La Ronge if the need arises.”

The RCMP is not identifying how many employees are affected by the outbreak.
