Canada’s nuclear regulator has renewed Cameco’s licence to continue to operate the Cigar Lake Mine.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission held virtual hearings in April, as submissions were given by more than 30 presenters.
The Commission concluded that Cameco is qualified to carry out the mining activities adding the uranium producer would continue to protect the environment and the health and safety of people.
The renewed licence is valid until 2031.
