A member of the Prince Albert Police Service is facing criminal charges after an incident this past April.

Constable Darcy Bear, who according to police is a 16 year member of the service, is charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling house.

Police said the charges stem from when patrol members were called to a home in the city on April 16. Bear was not on duty at the time of the incident.

Police said following the incident an internal investigation was launched and they notified the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).

Bear was suspended for 30 days and after that he was assigned to administrative duties. He appeared before a Justice of the Peace this week and is due back in court July 14.
