The Northern Inter Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) was reporting 383 active cases of COVID-19 in their communities Friday.

The far northwest reported the highest number of cases with 131. The northeast has the second highest number of cases with 105 followed by the far northeast which is reporting 92 active cases. The north central zone had the lowest number of active cases with 17.

NITHA said 16 people are in hospital while 2,022 recoveries are being reported.

In the far north central part of the province the Athabasca Health Authority was reporting 24 active COVID-19 cases. The health authority said two of these cases are new ones. They also reported eight recoveries.

Black Lake is reporting the most cases of any communities in Athabasca, the first nation currently has 17 active COVID-19 cases, with five people from the community currently in hospital. Fond-du-Lac is reporting seven active cases with two people in hospital.
