The Prince Albert Grand Council is demanding a meeting with a local pharmacy after an alleged incident of racial profiling.

A press release from the Prince Albert Grand Council says the incident occurred last Friday at the South Hill Shoppers Drug Mart and the woman is a member of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.

A video posted on social media shows a woman arguing with store staff and accusing them of following her for no reason.

When she leaves the store, an alarm goes off and staff call the woman back to see which bagged item was the cause of the alarm going off.

A review of the items shows they are all paid for and the woman continues to argue with a staff member.

The last part of the video shows the staff member giving the finger to the woman and her friends.

In the press release, PAGC Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte says Indigenous people should not be treated like thieves while going about their day-to-day business.
