The Prince Albert Police Service says veteran officer Jason Stonechild is leaving the force.

Stonechild has been with the police service for 27 years and served as deputy chief since 2018.

A PAPS press release says he is retiring to pursue further professional goals in the broader Saskatchewan community.

In his time with Prince Albert police, Stonechild has served in Indigenous relations in a number of areas including working with youth.
