Provincial public health officials reported 66 new COVID-19 cases in the Far North over the weekend.

The Far North West identified 35, the Far North East 23 and the Far North Central eight.

One person each in the Far North West and Far North East regions are in hospital receiving treatment.

Province-wide two additional deaths reported Sunday.

Two residents from the North Central zone who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

One individual was in their 20s and one was in their 80’s.  This brings the total number of deaths in the province to 31.

498 new cases identified over the weekend, 62 people remain in hospital and there were 106 recoveries. The location of 24 new cases are still pending.

New masking requirements and other economic restrictions come into effect across the province Monday.
