RCMP are investigating a drive-by shooting on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band reserve early Wednesday morning.

Police say they responded to a report of a 20-year-old male who was suffering from gunshot wounds at the apartment complex on Nunn Street in La Ronge around 3:15 a.m.

Mounties say the victim was transported to Saskatoon hospital by air ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

They say the victim was walking along the Far Reserve Road around midnight when an older model grey truck pulled up beside and opened fire.

It is not known how many occupants were in the vehicle.

Officers say they believe the shooting to be an isolated incident.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact La Ronge RCMP at 306-425-6730 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
