Students at the Pre-Cam community school in La Ronge will not be attending in-person classes for the next while, after an individual there tested positive for COVID-19.
The Northern Lights School Division sent a letter to parents Wednesday advising that the school will be closed until further notice.
“We are working closely with Public Health staff to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students,” Jason Young, Director of Education said.
“The health, safety and well-being of our school community remains our top priority. We are following sound protocols aligned with expert health guidance to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect students’ health.”
The letter also encouraged mask wearing, maintaining physical distancing and hand washing.
The letter did not indicate whether the infected person was a student or staff.
