The SJHL kicked off its pre-season schedule Thursday night.
The La Ronge Ice Wolves went to Flin Flon and dropped a 3-2 decision in overtime to the Bombers at the Whitney Forum.
The Ice Wolves had a 2-0 lead after the first period, but the Bombers clawed their way back into the game and Hayden Clayton ended things 2:39 into the extra session on the power play.
Nolan Doell and Narek Aleksanyan did the scoring for the Ice Wolves, while La Ronge product Alex Bell turned away 48 shots in a losing cause. Cal Schell made 27 saves for the victory in the Flin Flon net.
These two teams will continue their four-game exhibition series on Saturday night at the Mel Hegland Uniplex, with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m.
