Conservation officers in Northern Saskatchewan are investigating two poaching incidents in late September.

Authorities in La Ronge allege that a moose was killed south of the junction along Highway 912, on the evening of September 20, on reports of shots fired.

Officers located a fresh moose hide in that area.

This area is part of the Wapawekka Road Corridor Game Preserve where hunting is not permitted within 400 meters of the road.

Its suspected the moose was killed on or near the road, with the suspect vehicle travelling south.

The second incident occurred in Buffalo Narrows on or about September 22, where a gut pile from a calf moose was discovered along the shoulder of Highway 155, approximately 35 kilometers south of Buffalo Narrows.

That corridor of Highway 155 hunting is prohibited within 400 meters of the highway.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to contact the Saskatchewan Turn-In-Poachers line at 1-800-667-7561.
