The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is addressing COVID-19 cases in four communities.

The First Nation reports that seven cases are in Little Red River, six in Stanley Mission, four in Sucker River and two in La Ronge.

Stanley Mission has no new cases, other than the six originally identified. 235 tests have been conducted. Results show 196 are negative and 39 are still pending. All close contacts have tested negative and remain in isolation.

First Nation leadership says individuals who believe they may have symptoms of COVID-19 to call public health officials, arrange for a test and to begin self-isolation.

The Little Red River school in Christopher Lake will be closed until October 27, with students returning the next day, due to the presence of the virus in the community.

The Pre-Cam school in La Ronge will remain closed today for deep cleaning and sanitization. There will be no instruction for students.

The Northern Lights School Division says it will update parents over the weekend as to the re-opening of the school.
