The Northern Lights School Division is mandating that all staff and students from grades 4-12, wear a non-medical mask when two meters of physical distancing cannot be maintained.
However, students in lower grades will not be required to wear masks, yet may choose to do so at the discretion of the parent.
In its updated back-to-school plan, the school division says it will start the year at Level 3, which could include reduced classroom capacity, establishing cohorts and hybrid learning models.
The school division will be working with the Chief Medical Officer of Health to determine what the classroom will look like.
