Former La Ronge Ice Wolf Zach Bannister has committed to play the 2020-21 hockey season at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, which is an NCAA Div. III program.

The Grande Prairie, AB forward spent parts of three seasons with the Ice Wolves before he was moved to the Melville Millionaires last October in a blockbuster deal. Later in the 2019-20 season, Bannister was traded to the Flin Flon Bombers, as they geared up for a playoff run that was eventually cut short due to COVID-19.

In 18 games with Bombers, Bannister recorded 15 points. In 133 SJHL games with La Ronge, Melville and Flin Flon, he tallied 135 points.

Bannister’s best season offensively was the 2018-19 campaign when he had 70 points in 56 games with the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
