Lieutenant Governor Russell Mirasty released a message Friday morning to people in northern Saskatchewan.

In his message, Mirasty addresses many groups directly.

He starts by sending condolences to families where two Elders died due to COVID-19 complications.

He then thanks frontline workers, such as healthcare workers and police officers, as well as “all the people behind the scenes” who support these services. He continues by thanking community leaders and volunteers for their work during the global pandemic.

Mirasty ends the message by saying he and his wife are excited to visit northern communities again.

Mirasty is a member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and is from La Ronge.

The message is available in print and video form. The video messages are available in English, Cree and Dene.
